One of my favorite things about my job is that I get to hang out with my closest friends and capture different seasons of their lives!! I remember the first time I met Jess - she was interviewing me for a position on her team at Wounded Warrior Project. I remember thinking she was so friendly, warm, down-to-earth, poised, professional, well-dressed, I could go on (if you know her, you know what I'm talking about!!)... and how it would be an absolute dream if she hired me. The stars aligned and I was offered a job with her on the volunteer program just a few weeks later!
Since then, Jess has become an incredible friend, mentor, role model, and one of my biggest cheerleaders. Most of you probably don't know this, but if it weren't for Jess (AND OUR TEAMMATE, JASON!!! Who isn't pictured here because he lives in Texas and his last name isn't Pettry ;)), I may never have launched BLP as a business!
One day after work, I took photos of a friend and her dog for fun, then went to meet Jess and Jason for dinner immediately after. I was all pumped up about the images I took (if you've ever scrolled allllllll the way back to the beginning of my Instagram, you may have seen them!!), so I pulled out my camera to show them. I was kinda wondering out loud, "What if I charged people for this? Like, could I DO this??", and their answer was a resounding YES! Throughout dinner, they did nothing but encourage me, so much so that I went home and created an LLC, an Instagram account, and a Facebook page!
Jess has since put her money where her mouth is (ha!!) and booked multiple sessions with me! This most recent session was purchased as a Christmas gift for her mother-in-law from all the Pettry kids - Jess & Jon with their little man, James (the J's!), and CD & CeCe, with their boy, Charlie (the C's!). As all you moms know, toddlers sometimes have the attention span of a goldfish, so this session was full of running, swinging, jumping, and spinning in circles, and the boys had a blast!
Enjoy scrolling through some of my favorites!! And a BIG thanks to Jess for always believing in me and trusting me with your family's memories!!! Love you all!
